We took the day off on Friday to hit the slopes at Crystal Mountain located east of Seattle on Mount Rainier. We were hoping for tons of fresh snow and sunshine (to take in the great views), but had to settle for just fresh powder. Life is tough! It snowed all day. Crystal got 87 inches of snow in the past 12 days! The fresh powder killed us. We were wiped out by the end of the day.
Mountain Facts:Elevation Base - 4,400 ft; Summit - 7,012 ft ; Vertical - 3,100 ft; Crystal is the largest ski area in Washington with 2,300 acres, 50 named runs, and 10 lifts. (Advanced/Expert - 30%, Intermediate - 57%, Beginner - 13%); Longest Run - 2.5 miles, Average Annual Snowfall - 385 inches
Here is Tracy on the last run of the day.
The fresh snow came up to my knees. It made it difficult to turn the skis. We got very sore! Saturday better be a day off! Here is Tracy on the toughest run of the day. We thought it would be fun to try a black diamond. We both fell a lot!
