Penn Cove Mussels

Tracy and I are lucky that some of the best mussel harvesting is located right out across our bay. On Sunday we bought some fresh Penn Cove mussels at the local fish market, and I tried a new recipe. Yum.
I cleaned the mussels and put them in a cast iron skillet. Then I took a half a can of coconut milk mixed with a curry paste and poured it over the mussels. Then I diced some chives and sprinkled them over the mixture. It only took about 10 minutes on the grill. They were delicious. If you google Curry Mussels, you can find tons of more elaborate recipes... especially ones with lemon grass. If you like shell fish, I would definitely give it a try.
