If you don't know what an IPA is... then you better plan a trip out West! Just about every restaurant features a local India Pale Ale on tap. An IPA is golden colored beer with extra hops added for sweetness, bitterness, and a little higher alcohol content. It is a favorite in the NW. Tracy has had his beer-making supplies in storage since 1994. The last time I enjoyed one of his home-brewed beers was a few months after our wedding when we were living above 8th Street Grill in Holland.
But he started another batch this weekend, an IPA. Hopefully it will turn out better than our wine, which was drinkable... but not really shareable. Photos:

I dated a guy in Grand Rapids who lived in a studio apartment, and the first thing he showed me when giving me the grand tour was that he brewed beer in his bathtub. We didn't date long enough for me to sample the beer :-)
