Things I like about Seattle

One of my favorite places to shop is the U Village. It is an outdoor shopping mall next to the university of Washington. It has just about all my favorite shops. It is a "for-sure stop" if you come out to visit and want guaranteed good stores. Everything is just perfect... the landscaping, store selection, water features, even the restrooms are plush.

Tracy and I recently took a trip down there and here are some of the highlights:

Did someone say Crate and barrel? Two stories of beautiful things; but I held back on making any purchase this time. But I do have my eyes on the acrylic martini glasses for the boat... and the cute towels, and the rugs, pillows, don't forget the martini shaker... and the.... :)

Of course there is the Aveda store. Yes, I said store! (look above the SUV) No need for a salon when Aveda has their very own lifestyle stores carrying all their products. They have several stores in the area. And every year, they give you a free gift on your birthday. Happy Birthday to me!

They have a lot of other fun stores too, like Barnes and Noble, Restoration Hardware, Smith & Hawken, Pottery Barn and The North Face.

Tracy and I grabbed a burger and beer at a Microbrewery in the Village. Benson enjoyed the outdoor seating. The hefeweizen was wonderful and the weather was sunny and a comfortable 75 degrees!

Just wanted to comment on the acrylic glasses for the boat... We bought acrylic wine and martini glasses for the boat too and eventually found out it wasn't worth the hassle. They tip easily. We found that there isn't anything you can't drink from an acrylic rocks glass. Amazingly, it tastes the same too and they're stackable.

Now damn it, quit your shopping and get that boat out of the slip.

Registering at Crate & Barrel was one of the best wedding-related decisions I made. I looooove that store! The pages in my catalog are practically tattered :-)
