USS Lincoln Deployment

The Everett Naval Base is the Home Port for the USS Lincoln aircraft carrier. We can usually see the ship docked at the naval base from our back yard. The ship is hugungous! It is a sight to behold.

This week, the USS Abraham Lincoln departed from Naval Station Everett embarking upon a seven month deployment in the Persian Gulf. We went to a going away dinner for one of our neighbors, an officer on the USS Lincoln. He said that the ship will end up having about 5,000 naval crew on board while in deployment. That amazes me. He had some great stories to tell about life on the ship.
