Anchors, Dinghies, eGOs, and more...

Tracy and I seem to be in acquisition mode. Now that the boat is in the water, we have all this outfitting to do. Getting it Coast Guard compliant is our first step. We bought life jackets, a first aid kit, fire extinguishers, flares, and more. We should be getting that shipment in the mail. It should feel like Christmas when it comes; but it will kill our pocket book. The boat's previous owner took most of the gear with him since he was upgrading to a bigger boat. He even took the ANCHOR.

So Saturday, we drove down to Seattle to one of the largest boat outfitting stores around, Fisheries Supply, to purchase an anchor. Of course, Tracy has been researching anchors for a few months. Here he is sporting his new 35# Delta. Such a fine specimen (hmm... Tracy? or the Delta?).

After that, we stopped to Elliot Bay Marina to look at a used dinghy. The marina was first class -- nothing like Everett. It reminded us of being home in Michigan. We didn't make any purchases. We still are in research mode... trying to make sure we get a tender that is just right for us. We plan to get one we can row AND sail.

Then we went to look at the eGO, an electric bike. They are soooo cool. This was our second stop to this bike shop. It is the only place in the area that carries the eGO; and this one is the last one. Another decision. It sure would make the commute to work (I can ride it with a skirt on) and the boat fun this summer. Check out their website at http://egovehicles.com.
